The classic Grand Theft Auto III is getting a fan made update using the latest Rockstar Games game engine. The game is currently being remade using their Rage engine which is the same engine used in Grand Theft Auto IV and other Rockstar titles. No word on when the remake will be released and if it will be available for free or not, but you can see a teaser trailer that The Rage team has posted on YouTube.
The first two content drops for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 have been released. The drops include 2 new multiplayer maps
Liberation – A militarized Central Park stretches across a vast landscape, ripe for long-range sniper and LMG fire. Mounted turrets on either end lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower. Plan out your movement and always be aware of nearby sightlines to avoid becoming fodder for the enemy.
Piazza – This seaside Italian getaway is anything but idyllic, as tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates, and the team that best utilizes flanking routes will most often come out on top. Attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat. Keep up your awareness and don’t get taken by surprise.
Back in mid December, BioWare and Electronic Arts released the debut trailer for the latest title in the Command & Conquer series of real time strategy games. The trailer was revealed at the 2011 Spike TV Video Game Awards and includes a release date of 2013.
Just days after initially stating that the survival third person action game I Am Alive would not be coming to the PC due to piracy, creative director Stanislas Mettra sent a clarifying follow up email to Inc Gamers. Stating that he would really like to see the game make it to the PC. While this clarification can be taken as good news it still doesn’t mean the game is going to be available for the PC anytime soon. The challenges of piracy on the PC platform are still real and unfortunately may lead to other developers leaving the smallest platform out in the cold for some really cool releases. (of which I Am Alive is one of…).

Steam numbers released in the first 24 hours of The Elder Scrolls V release have shown some surprising numbers. Skyrim has been steadily out pacing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 amongst Steam users by more than 3 to 1. Modern Warfare 3 is still seeing record sales on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, this could be considered a chink in Call of Duty’s armor… that is if you don’t consider the bugs found this week to be a chink in its armor.
